Social Justice

The YWCA is committed to providing community education around social justice topics to support equity in our increasingly diverse community. Our goal is to improve the quality of life for women of all ages, races, and faiths.

YWCA Wednesdays

Stand Against Racism

We take a Stand Against Racism every day by raising awareness about the impact of institutional and structural racism and by building community among those who work for racial justice.

Join us each April as we take a stand against racism along with the more than 200 YWCA across the country. In 2022, we explored race and gender pay disparities, the root causes, and tools to make change. During Stand Against Racism we offer virtual and in person learning opportunities.

New for 2023, join us for a 21 Day Stand Against Racism Challenge which offers anyone the chance to participate in and help foster a virtual community of growth and learning around social, systemic, and institutional racial inequity. Participation in this virtual community of growth helps us to discover how racial and social injustice impact our community, to connect with one another, and to identify ways to dismantle racism and other forms of discrimination.

Opportunities for Individuals

We have multiple ways for individuals to get involved in learning about social justice and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) topics.

  • Our DEI Community Groups are designed to be safe spaces for individuals to grow and learn about a DEI topic and make connections with other community members who are on a DEI journey. We use a shame and guilt free approach to recognize where we are and identify steps to move to where we want to be. Our learning opportunities for individuals change each session, and we are always adding new options. Learn about what is available this session:

Opportunities for Groups

We offer a variety of services for businesses, organizations, or other groups of people. From one-on-one coaching to workshop series to a life size board game- we have an opportunity for every group. We create a plan for each group taking into consideration the time you can commit, how far you are on your journey, and your budget. Our goal is to make Greater Green Bay a more inclusive and welcoming place and for many people that work starts at work! We are part of this community and pride ourselves on being easy to work with, approachable, and affordable.
